I. The concept of “digitization”
Digitization is the generic term used for the digital transformation of society and the economy. The digitization process provides for the transition from a traditional era, to an era of knowledge and creativity, characterized by digital technologies.
Although it is difficult to believe, digitization is a process started since 1990, with the increase in Internet connections. Subsequently, this process was accelerated by access to the internet and high -speed mobile data. And even if it is in the upper part of the countries with the best internet connection, Romania has ranked 26th out of 28 in Europe in the chapter of digitization (second).
II. Digitization in Romania 2020
Although I understand that the company’s digital transformation means an increase in productivity and revenues, many corporate directors are still reluctant to this transformation. Paradoxically, Romania is the country with some of the most IT specialists, but have paid their attention to the external market, in which companies include the benefits of digital transformation and are willing to allocate money for digitization.
